On March 25, 2008 several of our members visited the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook.  We presented them with a check for $200.00 and brought a basket filled with assorted games, DVDs, and other items to be used with their Therapeutic Recreation program. We also had the opportunity to tour the facility accompanied by Mr. Jonathan Spier, Director of Community Relations.  As we walked the hallways and saw all the amenities of the home, we also had the opportunity to speak with residents and hand out puzzle books.  The expressions on their faces with these small gifts were priceless!  Our members left the home impressed with the quality of care that our aging Veterans are receiving at the State Vets Home in Stony Brook!
