May 1, 2008 we spent time at Walter Reed
Medical Center in Washington DC visiting
a very special Suffolk County
resident who was traumatically injured
in combat on March 16, 2008. Cpl
Christopher Levi, a Holbrook resident,
and an Army Ranger lost both of his legs
and severely injured his right arm when
the Humvee he was riding in was hit with
an explosive device. Despite the
severity of his injuries, Chris'
attitude was amazingly positive
and inspiring and no doubt will lead him
through his recovery. He is a true hero
and we feel honored to have spent some
time with him.
