On
December 12, 2007 Suffolk County
Homefront, Inc held it's first
fundraiser. We had a VFW Spaghetti
Dinner
at the William F. Taylor VFW Post 9486, Lake
Ronkonkoma.
The Post donated the hall for the
evenings event and we served to a packed
house of approximately 100 guests. The
food was provided by LaCasa Pizza
(Selden), beer was donated by Boening
Bros. Inc, (Lindenhurst), soda by
Pathmark (Islip) and water from 7-11
(Manorville). Along with these generous
donations, there were numerous prizes
donated for our Chinese Auction.
The grand prizes were four NY Islander
tickets from Island Screenprint,
and a Long Island Ducks autographed
jersey.
Due to the overwhelming response of
donated goods our first fundraiser was
extremely profitable and aided our
mission of supporting Suffolk
County's troops! |
